Morgan & Holmes, LLC
A modern take on the sou-sou — investing and building together
Project Synopsis
Founded in May 2019, Morgan & Holmes LLC brought together 20 Black and Brown men — most connected through Morgan State University — around a modernized take on the West African “sou-sou” tradition: instead of rotating payouts to individuals, the group pools resources to invest together, strategically and intentionally. K’Ronn W. Cranford co-founded the collective and has helped shape its digital presence and public-facing story.
Cranford Eclectic led the design and build of the Morgan & Holmes website, translating the club’s mission — self-sustainability and generational wealth-building within African-American and minority communities — into a clean, credible online presence that supports outreach, transparency, and new-member interest.
Goals & Deliverables
- Digital Presence: Designed and launched a static site communicating the club’s history, mission, and membership model
- Brand Storytelling: Translated the sou-sou model and founding story into clear, compelling copy for the “Our Story” and homepage sections
- Team & Trust Building: Built out an “Our Team” page to put faces and credibility behind the collective
- Transparency: Included clear disclaimers around the club’s non-registered, private investment-club status
- Growth Pathways: Built a “Start a Club” page to help other groups replicate the model
Impact
- Grew from 20 founding members to a focused core of 12 active members and one advisory investor across 5 states (Connecticut, New York, Maryland, Georgia, and Texas)
- Executed multiple private investments and built a diversified stock portfolio, now expanding into real estate
- Established a credible public presence for a private investment collective built on trust and shared purpose
